Youth Program

PAID SUMMER INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES!!!

__

In today’s increasingly competitive job market, young adults with little or no previous work history are finding it very difficult to secure temporary employment for the summer months.  With the help and support of the local business community, Michigan Works! Troy will be providing young adults with summer employment opportunities through our Summer Youth Employment Program.

__

The Summer Youth Employment Program is designed as a work experience program for eligible participants. Through this program, you will be earning wages and being paid through a federal grant fund while working for local companies gaining valuable on-the-job training and industry experience. The program seeks to develop good work habits and to stress both education and job experience as prerequisites to a successful future. You will be provided mentorship and guidance during the experience, along with a wonderful real-life learning opportunity.

__

Our program has brought together a variety of jobsites located within Oakland County with employment opportunities relating to professional and business services, including business administration, clerical, IT, engineering, marketing, accounting, etc.

__

The Summer Youth Employment Program is open to eligible youth between the ages of 14-21. To qualify, you must be an Oakland County resident and priority will be given to youth 18 years of age and older. *Additional eligibility restrictions apply.
